Get ready to hear me vent.
Last night I ventured over to the Saratoga Springs Walmart shortly before midnight. Last week I had such a great successful trip, so I was excited to go back. Last week I was basically the only couponer shopping that late, and this week there had to be at least 20+ couponers...which is fine. However, a lot of their ethics and attitudes were NOT fine!
There was a large group of ladies that were shopping together with their binders "instructing" others in the aisle. They kept telling people they learned everything from two of my favorite trusted sites (which those site do NOT teach their views on couponing). Then I heard them telling others how to use coupons incorrectly. Then they continued saying they price match Target prices incorrectly. When they tell the cashier the price, they tell them the price minus the coupon, so they get to double up on coupons. Then they were telling people to price match Nivea body wash for $2.54 (price at Target which is NOT even advertised!!!) minus $1 Target coupon found in the Beauty Book (mailed out to a few lucky people)…then they tell the cashier $1.54 and use the $3 off coupon. I had had it at that point. I explained that is NOT how things work, and I explained they were not following the price matching policy correctly. I was politely blunt. Then they said some nasty things, and I decided I needed to walk away. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Fighting, stealing, lying and cheating over coupons!!! What is happening to our couponing world?
Before this happened this group of ladies STOLE things out of my buggy 5 times!!! I have my coupons taped to the item, so it makes it easier on the cashier. Apparently, they thought my buggy was free range for the items and coupons in my buggy. Every time I said, “Excuse me Mam that is mine.” They responded saying, “Oh, I thought it was the store's stuff.” After the 5th time, I said, “I think you know by now this is my buggy.”
I also saw them digging through the boxes on the pallets (The workers stock the store at this time.).
They were totally shelf clearers. Telling people again when you see a great deal you have to grab it right away. They grabbed the whole stinking shelf!!!
Then they tried forcing the cashier to check them out at 11:30pm on Monday and double coupons before TUESDAY.
I was so disgusted that I decided to not even double coupon, and just purchase a few things I had left in my buggy. I was in the checkout aisle next to them, and I heard them making up prices. I told my cashier (who is a manager) none of those prices were correct. For example Purex (the big value size)...they said it was $1.25, and then used $3 coupons. I also heard them trying to price matching a CVS ad...hello there is not even a CVS in Utah! Thanks heavens my cashier sent an employee to go get the ads, so they could double check.
I am so DISGUSTED. I know my readers are NOT like this, so I am sorry to vent to yall. I really hope this Extreme Couponing trash dies down, and people learn how to do things ethically. Let’s get back to be classy shopper! BTW, I love Walmart, and I have nothing negative to say about them. If people keep taking advantage of this situation, it will have consequences for all of us! Amy at Savvy Shopper wrote about the consequences we are already facing here.
Sorry for venting and stay classy.

Oh my! What a trip. I can't believe people would be so dishonest to save a few cents! Seriously where is your integrity people? How sad. Those women will surely ruin it for the rest of the honest couponers to be able to price match or double coupons at Walmart!
So i went to do the whole double coupon thing at Walmar today. Just a few coupons on razors...nothing big. But I was pretty upset to find out they only double up to 1 dollar! So disappointed since my coupons were for 3 dollars off this razor. Is this true? They only do it up to 1 dollar...or is it just a Springville Walmart thing?
They do only double up to a dollar. They are "price matching" Ridley's Market, and Ridley's Market only double up to a $1. Round up your coupons under a dollar, and use them there to get some great deals!
I have a question about something I came across today at Walmart. I was told that they will price match OR double coupon, but not both. Unless it is a price match from Ridley'ss because Ridley's also doubles coupons on Tuesdays. Is that all correct? Can you only price match OR double, not both?
That is correct. It is either or. You either double up to $1 or price match...unless you are price matching Ridley's then you can do both. Policy can be found here http://bit.ly/gpNqq8
WOW! That's terrible! I'm so proud of you for saying something...good for you! I hope the extreme couponing craze dies down soon too, it's really getting out of hand and making it harder on everyone else.
