I just got paid to shop!!!

I just returned from Smith's with cash in my pocket! I didn't even know this was possible. Remember when I told you to transfer your prescriptions to Smith's bc you get $25 for each prescription you transfer...read here. I transferred two prescriptions.
I went to Smith's with all my coupons that expire in the next couple of days. I decided since I have a gift card balance, I would go shopping. When I checked out, the cashier handed me $5 gift card, $3 Catalina off my next purchase, and $25.34 in CASH!
I looked at the cashier completely dumbfounded, and I said, "Why did you just give me cash?"
Cashier said, "Because your coupons put you in the negative."
I said (still VERY confused), "Is the legal?"
Cashier said, "Yes."
I said (not wanting to doing anything illegal), "Can I ask manager to make sure this is okay?"
Cashier (looking at me a little confused): "Sure, but it's okay."
Manager said, "Yup. He's right."
I said, "Are you serious?!?! Thanks!"
SERIOUSLY, I just got paid to shop!!! Here is the proof!

1 Formula
4 Kid Wipes

How!!? I almost went negative 8 cents once at Smiths and the cashier told me I couldn't use my coupons cause they couldn't pay me to shop?! If you feel comfortable telling me, what Smith's do you shop at? You have a handle on couponing that I can't quite grasp yet. I mean, I can find some killer deals and get a lot of stuff for free, but you do things that I attempt to do but can never quite get it to work. Do you teach any classes or anything. I took a Savvy Shopper class and that helped a ton! But still, I'm missing something if you are able to do stuff like this! Let me know if there is any way to learn your tricks of the trade! Sorry, I'll end my novel of a comment here. :)

My Coupon Habit

I am trying to get my hands on their coupon policy. I cannot find it online. (If anyone knows where it is, PLEASE email me the link.) Here's what I am guessing happened: The cashier used my "pharmacy points" before he put in my coupons. I wanted to make sure this was "legal", and that is why I asked the manager. I seriously am still in shocked that this happened! I shop at several Smith's...this trip took place at the Smith's Marketplace on 9000 S and Redwood Rd.
I will posting tomorrow about classes. I will be offering free classes for Utah and Salt Lake County.
